Today was Grace's first day in the nursery at church. Okay her second time, I just try and block out the first time. It was the day she was baptized and we took her in the nursery after the baptism portion of the service. It was only for about 30 minutes. I was suprisingly confident about it but when my pager (they give the parents pagers while their child is in the nursery) went off right after church let out, I knew she was throwing a fit. And she was...I could hear her screaming before I even got on the hall her class was on. So that was the first experience. I figured this time she would be in the 1 year old class and since she was walking would be completely distracted and oblivious that I wasn't around. That idea held up until about 5 minutes before church was out...where she dropped a fit, King Kong style. As we headed toward the nursery I had this picture in my mind that I would get there and see her playing, happy and she would run into my arms. That was short lived. As we turn the corner I hear screaming and I say, "That's Grace," and Trish says, "Are you sure?". "Uh yeah you can't mistake that scream,". Sure enough the nursery volunteer is holding her and he says, "She just started crying, she played really well almost the whole time. " I get Grace and she continues to scream for about another 5 minutes. So I guess you could call it a success...in my world anyway.

She takes after her Auntie Amanda. Amanda used to throw herself down on the ground, face down, and pound her fists and feet up and down into the ground king kong-style while screaming this weird primal grunt-scream. Mom would step over her and leave her laying like that in the aisle of the grocery store. NOBODY wants to kidnap THAT kid. Maybe it's Grace's little primal defense system!
I'm a catch no matter how you look at it
People in stores (even little old ladies) were quite understanding when Amanda was young. It's gotten a little harder to explain in the last few years..........
My read on Grace is that she is joining the boycott of organized religion. You go Grace. Here's to world peace......
oh yea, I'm mailing out your own paper bag ASAP
Amy, I just looked at this again and I don't want you to take Grace back there EVER!!! Did you notice the "I've been changed" sign? What was wrong with her the way she was? We all LIKED her that way..... King Kongs and all.
:o}
Okay all King women are crazy! I love you all...I think your right Sally, I like her the way she is too!
