So Grace had her first experience in the baby pool this weekend. She loved it! She splashed and laughed. Our neighbor's grandson Hunter, who is 2, played with her. To my surprise, Grace likes to stick her face in the water. Of course that made Neal estatic since he knows she will be a champion whitewater kayaker.

Our Memorial Day weekend was pretty quiet. We just did some family things. My girlfriend Trish came over last night after she had put her boys to bed and Grace was asleep. We sat on the porch and drank more wine than we probably should have. It was nice to have some much needed girl time...I swear we could never run out of things to talk about. You can visit Trish on her blog at Tootsie and Squish. She has two beautiful boys and has been a tremendous help to me with all my new mom questions.
That's about it here, more paperwork to follow this week on the house. Oh and we are looking to name the new mountain house, you know like beach houses have. So bring on the suggestions!

Your music brought back so many memories! I can't wait to put Gracie in the pool, but she is so fair skinned, I am terrified! My parents have a neighborhood pool, so maybe you guys can come visit us there this summer...I'll be thinking of house names, how fun!
I had a dream last night that you called the new place "The Great Escape". You would look at Neal and say "I need The Great Escape" and you'd all get in the car and drive to Pumpkin Lane. I almost got out of bed at 2am to write this, but decided to go back to sleep instead because I could probably remember in the morning. I told the dog just in case. He remembers everything.
mom always wanted to build a shed in the back field and call it 'the hide e ho' I think it's a fantastic name.

I am sure that there is a kayaking term for water that is calm. You know, the part of the run where you can paddle easy or just drift and appreciate what is around you. I am sure that space must have a word or term of its own, but whatever it is....... that's my suggested name for the cabin. I hope that no matter how wild life is, when you go to the mountains there will be only appreciation and peace.
Or we could call it Pieville.....
