Girl's week in the mountains...

So my parents went on a cruise for a week and Grace and I took the opportunity to stay at their house and spend the week together. We did lots of fun stuff since Greenville is only a 35 minute drive away. It is amazing how far away from everyone you feel there but not too far.

We drove in and had breakfast with Anna and Melissa. Anna is getting so big and is now crawling, no wonder Melissa looked so tired. Grace loves being the oldest so she can show Anna how everything works.

Grace and I also went to the Greenville Zoo again. Grace was a little older this time so it was a whole new experience. According to Grace her favorite was the new giraffe exhibit.

My favorite was the oragutan and the baby. It was the cutest thing ever! Grace was very observant and says, "Look the mommy is taking care of the baby." "Yes she is," I say. "Where's the daddy," asked Grace? "Oh nevermind he is over there sleeping and scratching his bottom," says Grace. At that moment all the other mothers at the exhibit start cracking up. My kid, queen of the one liners!

The chimpanzees were a big hit with Grace also. She thought they were so silly the way they swung and chased each other in the cage. I think I need a shirt for Grace that says, "Vote for me". That child talks to every person she passes. As a matter of fact after befriending the couple walking next to us, she looks to me and says, "I talk to everyone Mommy". Yes she does.

We also spent a few days just on the property, riding in the truck, digging in the garden, watching Scout chase woodchucks, catching lizards, the list goes on and on.

Becca and her son Jacob came up for a night to visit. Jacob loved the mountian life and he really loved my parents new TV that he hooked his Nintendo Wii up to. I have to admit I am addicted to the bowling game.

This is my old Fisher Price house...she loves it!

We are back home now and back to the routine. I will post Easter pics I promise. Love to all!

After 2 months, I think I hit your blog button by accident! Lucky for me. Grace is so beautiful, and so grown up already. Can't believe she can still wear the giant sweater Amanda got her. Bet you're glad Auntie didn't get her shoes, eh? As for the monkey observations....I plan on quoting her!

Ah, she's so wise beyond her years noticing the daddy oraguntan's role in life!!! She has such an awesome sense of humor. I hope I get to meet that lil' munchkin soon!
